What is CBCS?
Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) has been adopted under Delhi University since 2015 so that all round development of the students can be done i.e. now students can choose their favorite subjects along with their core subjects. Through this, it has proved effective in making the education system simple and student-centric and making the curriculum more simple. All the subjects included in Delhi University come under this system.
The Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) provides students with an opportunity to choose from a set of courses consisting of core, electives and open-elective or skill-based courses. The courses are evaluated following a grading system, which is considered better than the traditional marks system. The grading system provides uniformity in evaluation and calculation of Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) based on the performance of the student in the examinations which enables the student to move to the institutions of higher education. Uniformity in the evaluation system also enables potential employers to assess the performance of candidates.
The objective of the Masters program is to provide students with basic as well as advanced knowledge in the discipline of Political Science through elective courses. The course work covers the entire spectrum of the six sub-disciplines of Political Science which include Political Theory, Indian Political Thought, International Relations, Comparative Politics, Indian Polity and Public Administration.
