Freedom as Autonomy

Kant has been an important contribution to freedom. The concept of liberty was quite simple in the ancient world. At this time it was included in the status of a civilian. Central to Kant’s theory is the notion of rationality. Kant agrees with Rousseau in that if “cause” is only instrumental, it will be of little “value” only that its actual function determines our end.

Kant says that reason commands us to act independently of our desires and inclinations. Reason acts on will. By which our moral law is fulfilled. Kant has given his views on will. Kant says- “Good Will”  is that which is in the absence of ability changed by our circumstances. actions as “Good Will” has discussed the incentive to give the name of.

According to Kant, the action that is motivated out of duty is “Good Will”. According to Kant, to act morally is to act according to the law. Kant’s concept of freedom is related to Self Determination. Freedom is a property and a demand of the rational agent…………….
